Coquitlam and
Burnaby Squadron Sail Past – June 06 2010
Commanders
Craig Neill Coquitlam Squadron and Bill Grout
Burnaby Squadron took the salute from the foredeck
of the Tomhara. Ten vessels participated in the
sail past and a total of 43 participants. The
Tomhara was stationed off the Ioco Boat Club on the
north side of the inlet. There was light cloud but
there was no rain.
Eight of the
vessels belonged to members of Coquitlam Squadron
and two belonged to Burnaby Squadron members.
Representing Burnaby Squadron was the Meridian and
the Bossy Lady. Past Commander Captain Dave
Holbrook saluted the commanders while Past Commander
Neil Tyldsely dipped the flag for the Meridian and
Captain Gordon Nex saluted the commanders while Leon
Brown dipped the flag for the Bossy Lady.
At the end
of the Sail Past both Squadrons gathered back at
Reed Point Marina for a lunch arranged by
Coquitlam’s Socials officer Sharon Pope. The lunch
was catered by the concession located at the
marina. We were treated to a variety of gourmet
sandwiches, soft drinks, tea, coffee and cake. It
was a pleasant end to a very good day.
