2009 BURRARD YACHT CLUB SOCIAL |
The Burrard Yacht Club was a lively
place on the evening of November 7th as
Burnaby Squadron and sister USPS Seattle Squadron
hosted an International Social potluck and party.
Our unofficial socials officer, Jule,
had organized a number of nautically themed sporting
events such as “throw the life-ring” and “get into
foul weather gear and hoist the anchor”. The
competition was fierce, furious, and more than a
little hilarious. The winning team received gold
medals and trophies, presented by Burnaby Squadron
Commander Bev and USPS District 16 Commander Barb,
with the runners up receiving silver, bronze, and
blatantly orange plastic medals.
We had barbecued salmon prepared on
the front deck of the club as well as gourmet food
and goodies brought by the party-goers. As usual for
Burnaby events, no-one went home hungry, and
everyone had a great time.
