Printing the Burnaby Squadron Boating Guide Series

Standard version.

After downloading the Standard version of the Burnaby Squadron Boating Guide you may print each page sequentially on individual pages to be bound or used as transparencies for instructing. If you wish to print double sided, print all odd pages first and then, reversing the pages and their order, print the even pages. Cut to size.

Some printers enable expanding the 5 ½ x 8 ½ pages of the Guides to fit the sheet you print on. You might wish to do this if the output definition of your printer allows.

Booklet version.

The Booklet version may contain 4 or more (5 ½ x 8 ½) Guide pages on 2 or more (8 ½ x 11 pages) PDF file pages. (2 Guide pages per PDF page)

The Booklet version appears to be scrambled but has been developed to be printed on 8 ½ x 11 sheets (both sides) and then folded in half to form a booklet that can then be stapled and/or perforated (using the perforation marks on the back page) and kept in a binder.

The sequence described below is based on manually feeding one page at a time. You may improve on this depending on the capabilities of your printer.

1.      Print only HALF the number of pages of the PDF file on 8 ½ x 11 sheets.

2.      Now manually feed each page, in the order they were just printed (1 – 2 – 3, etc.), to print the other side and complete the booklet with the rest of the pages.

3.      For you to check, we give you the printing sequence [one side and the other] for different booklet sizes.

        a)      4 page booklet : [1 – 2]

        b)      8 page booklet: [1 – 3]; [2 – 4]

        c)      12 page booklet: [1 – 4]; [2 – 5]; [3 – 6], etc.

4.      Now collate the pages and fold them in half to form each booklet.

5.      You can now staple the booklet or perforate appropriate holes to place it in a binder, using the perforation template on the back page.
